Dr. Mona Karimpour is a board-certified Psychiatrist at the Orange County location of Amen Clinics.
After graduating from Western University Medical School, she completed her psychiatry residency program at the University of Texas at Southwestern in Dallas, Texas.
In addition to general psychiatry and a deep passion to serve the Persian community in southern California, Dr. Karimpour specializes in psychodynamic individual psychotherapy and family and couples therapy.
She sees patients from age 13 and up, treating individuals, couples, and families for the following conditions:

- Head Trauma/Concussions/Traumatic Brain Injury
- Bipolar and Related Disorders
- Schizophrenia and Other Psychotic Disorders

Working with college students is a passion for Dr. Karimpour who supervises medical students at Western University and Residents from PIH Health Hospital in Downey, California. She also teaches mental health at Advanced College where her students score well above the national average on standardized testing. In her role there, she also conducts site visits as a team member in evaluating other allied health programs in colleges approved by their national accrediting agency.
Dr. Karimpour has traveled extensively through Europe (Spain, Italy, France), Asia (Japan), Middle East (Egypt, Turkey) and the United States. She is fluent in Farsi, and near-fluent in Spanish.
According to Dr. Karimpour, the most fulfilling part of her job is treating a patient who has lost hope and being able to help them overcome that challenge and live a fulfilling life.
